Beyond Empathy

Workshop & Networking Event

Click HERE to BOOK your FREE ticket

We would like to invite practice-based researchers to a free networking event run in partnership with the Poetics and Politics of Documentary at the University of Sussex (2-4 June 2017). For more information about the conference follow this link: http://reframe.sussex.ac.uk/poetics-and-politics-2017/

This is a rare opportunity to meet a group of international practice-based researchers presenting their work at the conference along with other practice-based researchers at University of Sussex. Over an afternoon of short presentations and workshops the participants will have a chance to directly explore some of the themes introduced in the conference with respect to their individual practices. How do we (practice-based researchers) relate to the notions of empathy, immersion, action and socio-political engagement in our research? How do technology, aesthetics and the ideology with which our work engages intersect in both our methodologies and our creative outputs?

All participants are encouraged to give a very short presentation of their work to open up discussions and networking possibilities.

In order to start the conversation prior to this event and to allow for future collaborative initiatives we have allocated a blog page for this event that can be accessed via: http://plr-beyondempathy.blogspot.co.uk/. You can find information regarding the current confirmed attendees on this blog and we will add your details to this blog upon registration.
